Tube Notes

Gannett News Service

"American Idol" finale, 7 p.m., Fox. The first "Idol" finale got huge ratings. Now comes the second, which will stretch to two hours.

Academy of Country Music awards, 7 p.m., CBS. Toby Keith and the Dixie Chicks — opposites in many ways — are among the nominees for entertainer of the year, deservedly. Reba McEntire hosts.

OF NOTE

"My Wife & Kids," 7 p.m., ABC. This smart comedy takes a serious detour. It's graduation time for Jr. (George Gore II), but revelations could change the family.

"Law & Order," 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., NBC. Maybe NBC wants to be an all "Law & Order" network. Tonight, it starts with a rerun involving corrupt city officials. Then comes a new episode about several deaths. Then comes another new one — the 300th overall — in which a celebrity drops his baby from a hotel room, leading to a pedophilia investigation.

"The Bachelor: After the Final Rose," 8 p.m., ABC. One more visit to Andrew Firestone and the woman he selected.

"Kingdom of David: The Saga of the Israelites," 9 p.m., PBS. The second half of a Jewish history.
