DAVID MAKAHANOHANO KUPELE was a child of the streets who became a man of God. Many knew him as a Waikiki entertainer during the 1950s and '60s. He died May 14. He was 81. See story.

JOHN QUINCY ADAMS, 83, of 'Ewa Beach, died May 16, 2003. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. Navy submariner serving in World War II and the Korean War; retired electrical engineer.
