HONOLULU

Tech summit opens today

An Information Technology summit bringing together more than 100 high school and community college IT administrators, coordinators and teachers opens today at Honolulu Community College.

The session is sold out. The summit will continue through tomorrow, offering information on the different IT education programs available through Cisco, Microsoft and Oracle.

The summit is being presented by the Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training based at HCC.


WINDWARD

Kahalu'u board meets tomorrow

The residents of Kahalu'u will have an opportunity to design a master plan for their town at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the city Department of Planning and Permitting conference room in the Honolulu Municipal Building, 650 S. King St.

The Kahalu'u Neighborhood Board will host the planning session that will take into consideration future projects and ongoing projects in the community, including a temporary traffic circle at Kamehameha and Kahekili highways, the new district park and a canoe halau.


EAST HONOLULU

Kamiloiki park gets scoreboard

The Rotary Club of Hawai'i Kai and East O'ahu Realty have jointly purchased a new scoreboard for the roller hockey rink at Kamiloiki Community Park.

The scoreboard will be dedicated tomorrow — right before a weekend tournament. The rink has been widely used since the city built it last year.
