Foundation donates $50,000 for scholarships

Advertiser Staff

The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation donated $50,000 to the Hawai'i State Women's Golf Foundation. The donation will be added to funds raised by the HSWGF through its Lily K. Yao dinner June 13 at the Hawai'i Prince Hotel.

That event, celebrating the First Hawaiian Bank Vice Chair's retirement and 60th birthday, is sold-out. Proceeds will help establish the Lily K. Yao Scholarship Fund to provide scholarships to the "underprivileged based on merit, golf aspirations and need."

To make a donation to the fund, contact HSWGF/LKY Scholarship Fund, 770 Kapi'olani Blvd., 701, Honolulu, HI, 96813. For information, call the HSWGF at 589-2046.
