Airline trustee applications in

The Office of the U.S. Trustee has received 12 to 14 applications from people all over the country interested in serving as trustee for Hawaiian Airlines during its bankruptcy reorganization.

At the same time, representatives of a creditors' committee and Boeing Capital Corp., which leases aircraft to Hawaiian, are trying to narrow a list of trustee candidates to three of four names.

A trustee is expected to be chosen within two weeks.


Investor seeks energy projects

Renewable Hawaii Inc., the renewable energy subsidiary of Hawaiian Electric Co., is seeking project proposals for O'ahu.

The subsidiary plans to invest in commercially viable, cost-effective projects to produce electricity from sun, wind, hydro, biomass, ocean or geothermal energy.

An initial $10 million investment is planned. Projects must generate at least one megawatt and have a planned date of commercial operation no later than Dec. 31, 2008.
