Rooster complaints are not going away
We're pleased to hear that a bill to ban roosters from residential areas is being reconsidered by the City Council. Many of our readers have complained that roosters crow at all hours, keeping them from getting a good night's rest.
If they were living in rural areas, we'd have no problem saying, "Tough luck. That's life in the country." But roosters undeniably pose a nuisance in urban residential areas, spoiling the quality of life and the value of real estate. Who wants to buy a house near a rooster pen?
Time and again, the City Council has chickened out of passing rooster restrictions. Whom are they protecting? Certainly not hardworking folks who are being deprived of sleep.
