BUSINESS BRIEFS
Internet to have real estate data

Advertiser Staff

The National Association of Realtors will implement standards for providing consumers Internet access to real estate listing data historically available only to professional brokers.

In Hawai'i, Prudential Locations launched the free service for clients last May as part of a growing national trend that some real estate firms argued would hurt the industry.

The rules, agreed upon last week, will go into effect in January and require that information be updated weekly at a minimum, not copied for public dissemination and provided only to real estate company customers.

Local firm lands Chicago project

Construction Management & Development Inc., a Honolulu-based firm, was named project and construction manager for the Grand Pier Center in Chicago.

The $80 million multi-use, 73-story project was stalled over disputes between the previous developer and the construction contractor.

CM&D has offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
