MISO semifinals this weekend

There will be a lot of MISO served up this weekend at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Park.
The Men's Island Soccer Organization (MISO) will hold its championship playoff semifinals in Division I, Division II and a semifinal game in Miso Masters, which is for players over 45 years.
The Division I semifinals will be played on field No. 7 tomorrow, with HPU White (9-1-4) meeting Lanikai Tuesday (7-4-3) at 1:30 p.m. and the Bulls (10-0-4) meeting defending champion Vaiete (10-2-2) at 3:30 p.m.
At the same time, on adjoining Field No. 6, the Bulls Juniors (10-2-2) meet Kamikaze (9-3-2) at 1:30 p.m. and Mililani (10-2-1) plays International (6-6-4) at 3:30 p.m. 2002 Division II champion Ikapono played in Division I this year and did not make the playoffs.
Tomorrow's winners will meet for the championships on June 1, Division II at 1 p.m. and Division I at 3 p.m. on field No. 5.
The Bulls could become the first undefeated MISO champion.
No., 1 seed Honolulu United (12-2-1) will play AP Kika (4-10-1) in a Miso Masters semifinal at 4 p.m. today at Waipi'o. Defending champion 'Ohana Masters (11-1-3) played Honolulu International (9-4-2) in the other semifinal last night at Ala Wai field.
The Miso Masters championship game is tentatively scheduled June 20, when the new Gordon Yank perpetual trophy, named for league founders Gordon Beatty and Yank Albers, who both died in the past year, will be presented to the winner.
The championship game of the Open Division, which combines I and II, will be held Friday at 7 p.m. Ala Wai. The Bulls defeated the Hurricanes 2-0 earlier and Latin Hawai'i played Lanikai Tuesday last night in the semifinals of the battle for the Robledo Cup, named for Cesar Robledo, MISO's first president.
Last weekend in the Las Vegas Friendship Coed Cup for women 30-over and men 35-over, the Flying Hawaiians lost to Las Vegas 1-0 in a semifinal game. The Hawaiians were given a tie for third place.
MISO plays a spring season from January to June 1 and a fall season from September to mid-December.
