Cecilio & Kapono, one of Hawai'i's most popular contemporary singing and composing acts, will stage a 30th anniversary "Lifetime Party" June 6 and 7 at Kapono's, Aloha Tower Marketplace. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Cecilio Rodrigues and Henry Kapono, who have maintained a duo career as well as individual solo acts for three decades, will mark their milestone performances at Kapono's with a live recording, which will be available on CD and DVD this summer.

The theme for the reunion/celebration is "30 Years of Friends."

Their union began under starry skies on O'ahu's North Shore in February 1973.

An eight-month run, mostly to sell-out audiences, followed at the Rainbow Villa in Waikiki. The club is gone, but C&K's career was launched with a Columbia Records contract.

The group has since appeared in sellout shows at the Waikiki Shell and at Aloha Stadium, with a catalog of hit tunes that could fill jukeboxes: "Sailin'," "Good Night and Good Morning," "Sunshine Love," "Sunflower," "Highway in the Sun," "Night Music," "All in Love Is Fair," "Summer Lady," "Life's Different Now," "Goodtimes Together," "Friends," "Here With You," "Railway Stations," "Gotta Get Away," "Song for Someone," "Lifetime Party," and more.
