Testing urged for hepatitis C

Healthcare professionals are encouraging people get tested for hepatitis C. Hepatitis C, the most common blood-borne infection in the United States, is a viral infection of the liver that can cause permanent damage, even liver failure. Free lecture on lupus June 7

The Hawaii Lupus Foundation will present a free lecture June 7 on systemic lupus erythematosus from a naturopathic perspective. The speaker will be Dr. Thauna Abrin, who grew up on the North Shore. She has a private practice in Manoa specializing in family health. The session will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the Richards Street YMCA, Room 205. Reservations are required by June 4 at 538-1522.
