Mark Lutwak, Honolulu Theatre for Youth director and artistic director, is seeking fresh theatrical talent, male or female, to play the "Sam I Am of all Sam I Ams" in HTY's season opener, "Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs & Ham/Gertrude McFuzz."

It's a nonsinging role, hence it's not gender-specific. Two opera singers and 10 Honolulu Symphony musicians will be part of the ambitious production, bowing next September. And because Lutwak had good luck in casting intern Clara Dalzell in last season's first play, "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day," in which she was a he, Lutwak figures that just maybe, lightning might strike again with a relative newcomer.

Auditions are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, at HTY headquarters, 2846 Ualena St. Callbacks, by invitation, will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Information: Lutwak, at 839-9885, ext. 17.
