Girlfriend arrested in 'Aikahi stabbing
A 24-year-old woman was arrested yesterday and faced a possible assault charge in connection with the stabbing of her boyfriend.
The man, 25, told police yesterday morning that he had been stabbed at his Noke Street home in 'Aikahi. Police at the scene found the woman and arrested her about 8:15 a.m. without incident.
The man's condition was not available yesterday.
Charges sought in tourist beating
Police arrested a man yesterday in connection with a Saturday morning attack on a tourist.
Police are seeking attempted-murder charges against the man for his alleged role in the group beating of a 21-year-old California man.
The victim, who is in critical condition at The Queen's Medical Center, was beaten by a group of men May 24 at Atkinson Drive and Kona Street, according to police. The man had been involved in a confrontation with the same group at a Kapi'olani Boulevard nightclub at 2 a.m., about 40 minutes before the street mugging occurred.
According to a witness, the man was punched and kicked by four or five men until he lost consciousness. The attackers fled in a blue Dodge PT Cruiser.
Arrests follow Wahiawa holdup
Police arrested two men Saturday in connection with two recent robberies at tourist attractions.
Clayton Young, arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, is accused of robbing a tourist couple at gunpoint last Wednesday afternoon at the Birthing Stones at Kamehameha Highway and Whitmore Avenue in Wahiawa.
Police said Young threatened to shoot the couple and demanded their property and car keys. He directed them to walk behind a large pile of dirt and took their rental car, according to investigators.
Officers made another arrest in the case May 23 when the stolen vehicle was involved in another tourist robbery at Sacred Falls. Harry Loughmiller, 27, was charged with car theft after police caught him driving the couple's rental car.
Suspect charged in three robberies
Authorities have charged Pele K. Kotani Jr., 18, with three robberies in April in Honolulu.
The robberies occurred April 1 at a McCully-area gas station, April 30 at a Kalihi public-housing complex and April 19 at Ala Moana Center.
Pool drowning victim identified
The medical examiner's office has identified a 59-year-old visitor from Japan who drowned Monday in a Waikiki hotel swimming pool as Kuniyoki Hirama.
Rescue workers were called at 3:42 p.m. to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. The victim was taken to Straub Clinic & Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hilo camera thief still on the loose
HILO, Hawai'i Police are looking for a man who grabbed a camera bag and camera from a 76-year-old woman yesterday on Banyan Drive.
The woman suffered minor injuries to her right hand in the incident shortly before 2:20 p.m.
The robber, who wore black shorts and a white T-shirt, fled through Lili'uokalani Park toward Kamehameha Avenue.
