Golf Notices

• Volunteers needed for proposed local amateur golf tournaments for men and women to be sponsored by the Hawai'i State Golf Association. For more information, call the HSGA office at 589-2909 or e-mail hsga@usga.org.

• Ongoing — Yo-Golf Series, every Sunday from 4:30-6 p.m., conducted by Kiyoko Sieradzki, LPGA teaching professional, at Aloha Academy of Golf at Ko'olau. Classes combine yoga and golf and are designed to condition, sharpen mental focus, relax and enhance enjoyment. Using yoga poses and techniques, golfers can increase flexibility, balance and strength. Open to women and men. Cost is $15 per session or $48 for a series. • June 2 — Hawai'i Golf Players Tournament. At Coral Creek Golf Course. Fee: $100, with optional entries of skins, seniors, and 2-person best ball. Tee time 12:45 p.m. Information: Norm Guenther, (808) 625-9860.

• June 2 — Deadline for Hawai'i Athletic Trainer's Association Golf Tournament, on June 19 (note date change from June 20). At New 'Ewa Beach Golf Course. Format: 3-person scramble. • June 2 — Na Koa Big Island fund-raising tournament; 9 a.m. shotgun start at the Hokuli'a Golf Course. Fee: $250 per person. A warm-up round is set for Mauna Kea on June 1 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start for $100. It will be followed by a reception at the Hapuna Prince Hotel. UH football coach June Jones will speak.
