Men's championship games to be played at Waipi'o 'bowl'

Advertiser Staff

MISO will be served in the bowl at Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Park Sunday.

The Men's Island Soccer Organization (MISO) championship games will be played in the "bowl" of the park's stadium, league president Sergio Bolioli announced yesterday. "The city finally approved of our using the stadium instead of the outside fields," he said.

The Honolulu Bulls will play HPU White for the Division I championship at 11 a.m. and International will play Kamikaze for the Division II title at 1 p.m.

The Bulls (11-0-4) could become the first unbeaten spring league team in MISO history.

Tonight, at Ala Wai field, the Bulls will play Lanikai Tuesday at 7 for the Robledo Open Cup, signifying overall superiority in the MISO spring league.

Officials are hoping the Division I title game does not go into overtime, because many of the Bulls players will be graduating from Punahou later Sunday.

The MISO Masters Championship for more seasoned men will be played at 7:30 p.m. on June 20 at Ala Wai between Ho-nolulu United (12-2-1) and the Ohana Masters (11-1-3).
