Tonight's Must-See

"Night of Too Many Stars," 7 p.m., NBC. Here's a genuine surprise — an hour that's far funnier than its awful time slot suggests. The purpose is to raise money and awareness for the Autism Coalition. Along the way, however, many people brought their best material. Jack Black has a great bit, summarizing all the Broadway musicals in song. "Saturday Night Live" alum Darrell Hammond has one of his best segments as Bill Clinton gloating about the huge budget surplus he left behind. The top moment, however, involves "SNL" regulars Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon, claiming to re-create the worst moments in the history of award-show chitchat. Their final one — Susan Sarandon and Eminem — is a classic.

Of Note

"Good Will Hunting" (1997), 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Bravo. Here are fresh chances to catch a great film. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wrote a superb, Oscar-winning script about a tough, bitter guy who happens to be a math genius. Gus Van Sant brilliantly directed a cast led by Damon and Affleck, with great support from Robin Williams (who also won an Oscar here) and Minnie Driver. Viewers can warm up by watching "Inside the Actors Studio" with Affleck at 3 p.m., and Williams at 4.

"Soldier's Girl," 6 p.m., Showtime. Based on a true story, this film tells of a military guy who begins a romance with a transsexual performer. Troy Garity, son of Jane Fonda and activist-politician Tom Hayden, plays the soldier.

"The District," 8 p.m., CBS. This rerun has Mannion struggling to preserve an AIDS rally as a tribute to his dying friend.

"Law & Order," 8 and 9 p.m., NBC. In the first rerun, a cab driver has been slain. In the second, a body is found floating in the river.

"The Agency," 9 p.m., CBS. In this rerun, officials scramble to learn if someone has been leaking information to terrorists.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. This rerun has Ashton Kutcher of "That '70s Show" hosting. The musical guest is 50 Cent.
