One of two men arrested yesterday in connection with Saturday’s shooting at Pearl City Shopping Center that left one man dead and another critically injured is on probation for a firearm conviction.

The man, 22, was arrested at his Limahana Street residence in Waipahu at 1:30 p.m. yesterday on suspicion of shooting at two 'Aiea men.

According to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records, in April 2000 the man was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, one year confinement and five years probation for a firearm conviction stemming from an April 1999 incident.

Another man, 26, was arrested yesterday at his 'Awaiki Street residence at 1:10 p.m.

Both men were booked on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police are looking for a third man whose identity is known, said homicide Lt. Bill Kato.

Kato said police have obtain warrants to search specific locations today.

Police said the shooting occurred after a group of men got into an argument at approximately 9:48 p.m. in front of Longs Drug Store, in the parking lot of the Pearl City Shopping Center.

Two men fired a total of seven shots, killing the passenger and severely injuring the driver of a white Honda.

The passenger, a 36-year-old 'Aiea resident, whose name has not yet been released, was shot four times in the head and back.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old 'Aiea man, was shot three times in the shoulder, leg and arm as he tried to flee.

Police are awaiting ballistics lab results to see if Saturday night’s shooting is linked to the Oct. 26 murder of 49-year-old Greg Morishima, who was gunned down by three men at a Pamoho Place residence in 'Aiea.
