Weekly honors

Damien's football team made history last Friday, winning the school's first football title. The Monarchs defeated Iolani, 28-21, at Iolani to claim the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II title. The seniors, many of whom never experienced an ILH victory until this season, posed for this picture after the Iolani victory. Rushed for 169 yards on 15 carries, including two touchdowns, in a 41-0 victory over Pac-Three.

Contributed in multiple ways — throwing a 46-yard touchdown pass, catching two passes for 40 yards and rushing twice for two yards — in a 20-13 victory over Kaua'i.

Caught four passes for 107 yards, including touchdown receptions of 30 and 47 yards, in a 52-14 victory over Pac-Five.

Had a match-high 11 kills to help the Falcons defeat defending state champion Kahuku in the OIA semifinals, 25-22, 25-19.

Had 60 assists, 25 digs, three aces and two kills in a 27-26, 25-15, 21-25, 25-20 victory over Iolani. All five Buffanblu hitters finished with double-digits in kills.

Had a match-high 18 kills in the Warriors' 25-12, 25-18, 25-18 victory over Damien.
