Chamber plans legislative review

The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii has scheduled its annual legislative review from 9 a.m to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The program, "Creating an Invigorating Business Climate," will include discussions on workers' compensation and health insurance.

Ted Liu, director of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, will speak on plans to market Hawai'i as a business destination.

Flightserv buys travel companies

The travel services division of eResource Capital Group Inc., Flightserv Inc., said it has acquired San Jose, Calif.-based SunTrips Inc., which sells vacation packages to Hawai'i and other destinations, and another vacation-package company, Vacation Express in Atlanta.

SunTrips and Vacation Express were air charter customers of Flightserv and will continue to operate from their current locations and sell packages under the same brands, with FS Tours and FS SunTours taking control of operations.
