Cue the timpani!

James MacArthur
James MacArthur, who played Danno in the long-running series "Hawaii 5-0," will receive the Film in Hawai'i Award from the Hawai'i Film Office tomorrow in recognition of his contributions to the local film industry.

The award will be given at a private reception, as part of the Hawai'i International Film Festival schedule.

"I'm thrilled," MacArthur said. " 'Hawaii 5-0' was really the first show to be shot on location (in Hawai'i), and it helped to develop a stable of actors and technicians here that were new to the business. And the impact of the show on tourism, I think, is incalculable."
