Tonight's Must-See

"37th Annual CMA Awards," 7 p.m., CBS. The old and new will blend in a busy night of music. Want tradition? Before his death, Johnny Cash was nominated for four awards, including best single and album. The show's Cash tribute has Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, his good friend Kris Kristofferson, Travis Tritt, Hank Williams Jr. and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Then there's Dolly Parton, who's up for top female singer. She'll do a solo with young pop star Norah Jones. Bluegrass' Rhonda Vincent sings backup. Still, country is also about the new. This year's Horizon Awards field is strong, with Blake Shelton, Buddy Jewell, Darryl Worley, Gary Allan and Joe Nichols. Then there's young Brad Paisley, singing his humorous OCelebrity." Pseudo-celebrities Trista Rehn, William Shatner and Little Jimmy Dickens will join him. The A-list performers will include host Vince Gill, plus Shania Twain, Alan Jackson (with Jimmy Buffett), Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, George Strait and Kenny Chesney.

Of Note

"Ed," 7 p.m., NBC. As Carol decides whether to take a writing job in New York City, everyone else frets about change. Ed would sell the bowling alley and move. Eli worries about a new boss, while Mike searches for a new friend.

"That '70s Show," 7 p.m., Fox. Eric officially decides to delay college and help his dad „ who definitely doesn't want help. Meanwhile, Jackie keeps trying to lure Hyde back. It's an episode that is often broad and sometimes funny.

"It's All Relative," 7:30 p.m., ABC. There are lessons in another way of life for Maggie and her adoptive dads, who are urbane and gay. She attends an Irish wake. Her dads run the bar, so her boyfriend's family can catch the wake.

"The O.C.," 8 p.m., Fox. Ryan and Luke take the crusade for Marissa's affections to the soccer field.

"The West Wing," 8 p.m., NBC. The president doesn't want to quit helping Oklahoma tornado victims, even when he's needed in Washington. Meanwhile, Josh's political mistake draws venom from many people.

"Karen Sisco," 9 p.m., ABC. Karen wants to romance a Florida Marlin's pitcher. (That team has lots of fair-weather fans, you know.) First, however, she needs to help catch a prison escapee.

"Law & Order," 9 p.m., NBC. A jobless man is found dead with $400,000. That money leads to a bigger investigation.
