Lingle appoints three members to campaign spending panel

Associated Press

Gov. Linda Lingle has appointed a businessman, an attorney and an accountant to the state Campaign Spending Commission.

Appointed to the five-member commission were Steven E. Olbrich, managing partner of Olbrich Farms; Gino L. Gabrio, an attorney and partner in the law firm of Cades Schutte; and Paul T. Kuramoto, a certified public accountant and manager of Tokumoto, Yamamoto & Ichishita, CPAs Inc.

Gabrio and Kuramoto will serve through June 30, 2007. Olbrich, who replaces a member who recently resigned, will serve out the remainder of that term, until June 30, 2004.

The Campaign Spending Commission oversees contributions to political campaigns and the expenditures for all state and local elections to make sure candidates for public office comply with the law.
