Tonight's Must-See

"Hope & Faith," 8 p.m., ABC. When this pleasant comedy began, Kelly Ripa said it might have a small role for her talk-show colleague, Regis Philbin. "I'm hoping that maybe he'll do a little cameo once in a while," she said. "Maybe he'll play — I don't know — the sleazy agent." That turned out to be pretty close. Philbin shows up tonight as Handsome Hal, a car dealer. Faith (Ripa), a former soap star, now out of work and broke, appears in one of his commercials.

Of Note

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. Joan was a troubled, introspective kid when God began talking to her directly. Now comes broader advice: Keep an eye out for people who might need help.

"The George Lopez Show," 7 p.m., ABC. With the factory shut down, George isn't sure he can pay for his daughter's upcoming party.

"Boston Public," 8 p.m., Fox. Another hour focusing on guest star Dennis Miller, who works with a suicidal young man.

"Miss Match," 8 p.m., NBC. Kate is trapped in the middle of a lawsuit between her dad (Ryan O'Neal) and his ex-squeeze (Michele Lee). Meanwhile, Kate thinks she's addicted to love.

"Third Watch," 9 p.m., NBC. Murder attempts continue against a judge (Ann-Margret), and her bodyguard(Skipp Sudduth) tries to hide her.
