ISLE FILE
AFL team signs Islanders fullback

Advertiser Staff

Josh White, who played for the Hawaiian Islanders of arenafootball2 last season, has signed a three-year contract with the New York Dragons, an Arena Football League team.

"They said they needed to upgrade that (fullback/linebacker) position and they gave me the chance," said White, a former Farrington High and University of California running back. "I'm ready to show them what I'm made of."

White, who weighs 265 pounds, scored 14 touchdowns for the Islanders last season. He tied a league record by rushing for five touchdowns against Bakersfield in May.

White becomes the second former Islanders player to jump from af2 to the AFL. Offensive/defensive lineman Olen Rosehill played for the Arizona Rattlers in 2003.
