SHIRLEY J. FUNAI, 66, of Fredericksburg, Va., died Nov. 5, 2003. A former U.S. Air Force nurse and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survived by husband, Donald; daughter, Stephanie; son, Donald; sister, Betty Lou "Suzy" Hayes; three grandchildren. NANCY HERRICK HARTWELL, 90, of Pohai Nani, Kane'ohe, died Oct. 4, 2003. Born in South Hampton, N.Y. First woman CLU in Hawai'i; community volunteer leader in many organizations. Survived by son, Alfred; daughters, Mary Truesdell, Cordelia Puttkammer and Julie Pearce. Service held. Her body was donated to the University of Hawai'i Department of Anatomy. ROBERT HIDEO IKEHARA, 86, of Ho-nolulu, died Nov. 1, 2003. Born in Waialua. Retired mason. Survived by wife, Takako; son, Fred; daughter, Janet Shigaki; grandchild; brother Herbert; sister, Hazel Matsuo. Private service held. Arrangements by Hosoi Garden Mortuary.

WILLIAM KAPAKEA KEKOA, 79, of Papakolea, died Nov. 2, 2003. Born in Honolulu. Retired City and County of Honolulu Sanitation Department employee. WALLACE MASATO NAKAMURA, 88, of Honolulu, died Nov. 1, 2003. Born in Hawai'i. Retired automobile painter at Aloha Motors. Survived by wife, Jean; son, Glenn; daughter, Jeanette Onishi; four grandchildren; great-grandchild. MARGARET MARY KUULEILANI REISS, 76, of Hilo, Hawai'i, died Nov. 5, 2003. Born in Honolulu. A retired master kumu hula prominent in restoring ancient hula to the Big Island. Survived by husband, Gerald; sons, Frank Almodova, George Ah Chin and Ray Ah Chin; daughter, Alani Hiiakaikapoliopele; sister, Beatrice Kapihe; brother, Roy Albano; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center. ARLEN "SCOTTY" SCOTT, 88, of Honolulu, died Oct. 31, 2003. Born in Danville, Calif. Retired director of the Department of Agriculture in Hawai'i. Survived by son, Ames; brother, Arvin. JAMES K. SHINOHARA, 63, of Lakeside, Calif., died Oct. 26, 2003, along with his wife and son, while fleeing the Cedar Fire, in San Diego County, in their car. Born in Hilo, Hawai'i. A 1958 graduate of Hilo High School, U.S. Air Force veteran and civilian employee at Pearl Harbor. Survived by daughter, Kathy Petersen; son, Andy; brothers, Andrew, Roy and William; sister, Sachiko Carlson; two grandchildren. Service Friday at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, and Nov. 15 at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, Ramona, Calif. Arrangements by Greenwood Mortuary of San Diego.

WARREN "STEWART" TITUS JR., 51, of Petaluma, Calif., died Nov. 4, 2003. Born in Honolulu. An avid surfer. Survived by wife, Elizabeth; father, Warren; stepmother, Janice Farrar-Titus; son, Warren III; daughter, Megan; stepdaughter, Caitlin Winn; sisters, Patricia Titus and Barbara Fowler.
