Celebrations

A wedding reception was held on May 4 at the Ihilani Resort in celebration of the wedding of Nicole L. Pei, daughter of Michael K. Pei of Wai'anae and Johanna M. Pei of Honolulu, and Mark A. Cardillo, son of Rose Bissonette of Massachussets and the late Alfredo L. Cardillo. The bride (Kamehameha Schools/UH-Manoa bachelor's/Texas Woman University master's), now Nicole L. Cardillo, is an occupational therapist. The groom is a graduate of Hudson (Mass.) High School and is in the Navy. The couple live in Virginia Beach, Va.

Kimberly Kay Rhodes, daughter of Theldon and Virginia Sharkey of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Willie Robinson of Corpus Christi, and Gregory Ballenger, son of James Ballenger of Baton Rouge, La., and the late Hong Im Ballenger and Kim Ballenger of Houston, announce their engagement. The wedding is planned for Jan. 25 in Honolulu.

Kikuyo Saiki of Waipahu celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 19 at a dinner at the Waikele Clubhouse hosted by her children, grandchildren and great-children. Kikuyo was born Oct. 19, 1903, on Kaua'i and has five children, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Nick and Jena Natividad, formerly of Pearl City, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16 at a lunch in the Maile Room of the California Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas hosted by Dionicia Agbayani and Mary Helen Agbayani and attended by family and friends. The Natividads have four children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nick is retired from Fort Shafter and Jena is retired from Bishop Trust Co. The couple were married on Aug. 16, 1954 in Waipahu and now live in Hillsboro, Ore.
