Honolulu Fire Department divers searching for a missing Waipahu man today recovered a body in Ke'ehi Lagoon.

The body was found near the boat harbor. An HFD spokesman declined comment on whether the body found was that of 19-year-old Dayne Daclison.

HFD and Coast Guard crews conducted underwater and surface searches from shortly before midnight until 3 a.m. today for Daclison. The fire department resumed the search at daybreak.

Petty Officer Brooksann Anderson said the Coast Guard responded to reports of two flares sighted at 11:50 p.m. in Ke'ehi Lagoon and learned that two men had paddled out in a dinghy and ran into trouble.

The Coast Guard said Lawrence Palafox, 21, and Daclison were thrown into the water. Palafox swam to a moored sailing boat and set off the flares, officials said.
