U.S. tops Turkey at World Cup volleyball

Former University of Hawai'i All-American Robyn Ah Mow-Santos sets the ball in the United States' win over Turkey at the World Cup.

Prikeba Phipps scored 21 points yesterday to help the United States defeat Turkey in five games and improve to 6-1 at the women's volleyball World Cup at Sapporo, Japan.

The United States won 24-26, 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 15-10.

The top three teams at the 12-team tournament earn bids to the 2004 Olympics.

Former University of Hawai'i standout Heather Bown scored 15 points for the United States.
