Honolulu Fire Department divers recovered the body of a missing Waipahu man yesterday in Ke'ehi Lagoon.

The body of Dayne Daclison, 19, was found near the boat harbor. Family members on the scene told KHNL-TV that the body was Daclison.

HFD and Coast Guard crews conducted underwater and surface searches from shortly before midnight until 3 a.m. yesterday for Daclison. The Fire Department resumed the search at daybreak.

Petty Officer Brooksann Anderson said the Coast Guard responded to reports of two flares sighted at 11:50 p.m. Sunday in Ke'ehi Lagoon and learned that two men had paddled out in a dinghy and run into trouble.

The Coast Guard said Lawrence Palafox, 21, and Daclison were thrown into the water. Palafox swam to a moored sailing boat and set off the flares, officials said.
