Weekly honors

Kalani High's girls volleyball team, led by Tamari Miyashiro, defeated Moanalua to win the school's first league volleyball title since 1972, when the University of Hawai'i's Dave Shoji was its coach.

Made four tackles, including one for a loss, had two pass deflections and recovered one fumble to help the Red Raiders shut out Kailua, 6-0, for the OIA championship.

Had 155 all-purpose yards — 59 rushing, 54 receiving and 42 in returns — and scored two touchdowns to help the Governors defeat Mililani, 14-6, for third place in the OIA.

Had a key sack in the fourth quarter to push Kahuku out of the red zone and helped the Surfriders hold Kahuku scoreless for 47 minutes and 40 seconds before losing 6-0 in the OIA championship game.
