For the first time, the Hula Bowl will be televised in Japan.
ESPN will televise the game live nationally and CBS radio will broadcast the game to 151 countries and the armed forces.
The 2004 game will be played Jan. 17, starting at 3 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, Maui.
University of Hawai'i players Travis LaBoy (defensive end) and Isa'ako Sopoaga (defensive tackle) have been invited to play.
"The move to an 8 p.m. kickoff gives Hula Bowl Maui a prime time audience in the important East Coast market," Hula Bowl Maui president Richard Schaller said.
