Tonight's Must-See

"A Bug's Life" (1998), 8 p.m., Disney Channel. Most of us can empathize with Flik (voiced by Dave Foley) in this animated delight. He's a mere bug, not even noticed by other bugs. He admires a bug beauty (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) from afar. Now comes his chance for heroism, as the colony faces a threat from grasshoppers. Alas, the only helpers he can recruit are circus performers. That adds up to a cheery comedy from the producers of the "Toy Story" films. There's a trend here: With Disney Channel movies Fridays on cable and "Wonderful World of Disney" films Saturdays on ABC, families can have a weekend habit.

Of Note

"The Animal" (2001), 7 p.m., Fox. Rob Schneider wakes up from an accident and finds he's been transplanted with lots of organs from animals. This changes his behavior and, well, silly things happen.

"Joan of Arcadia," 7 p.m., CBS. So far, Joan has gone along with advice from God. Tonight, she has doubts after being told to keep a sculpture out of an art show.

"The George Lopez Show," 7 p.m., ABC. George and Ernie try to help Vic rescue his cousin, a Cuban refugee off the coast of Florida.

"Hope & Faith," 8 p.m., ABC. Country star Clint Black guests as someone who used to date Hope (Faith Ford) in high school. He's single again, and she fumes when he gets together with her flashy and immature sister (Kelly Ripa).
