BUSINESS BRIEFS
Ex-CEO seeks airline data

Advertiser Staff

Former Hawaiian Airlines CEO John Adams and the airline's parent company are seeking a court order to force Hawaiian to turn over documents regarding the company's financial situation and its pilots' pension fund by Dec. 17.

Adams, Hawaiian Holdings and other companies affiliated with Adams said in court papers that Hawaiian Airlines bankruptcy trustee Josh Gotbaum has failed to provide all of the documents despite repeated requests.

Gotbaum said yesterday that "it's unclear why Hawaiian Airlines should spend thousands of dollars to provide information that our pilots, who have a much greater stake in pension matters, haven't requested."

Hoku Scientific wins award

The Hawai'i Venture Capital Association yesterday named Hoku Scientific Inc. as the winner of its Venture Capital Deal of the Year Award for 2003. Hoku signed a multi-million dollar agreement this year to develop fuel cell technology for Sanyo Electric Co.
