Being ornamental

Advertiser Staff and News Services

To raise money for the Washington Place Foundation, Gov. Linda Lingle will sign a keepsake Christmas 2003 ornament at a reception from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the C.S. Wo Gallery, 702 S. Beretania St.

The $15 metal ornament depicts the Piano Room at Washington Place, said to be a favored spot of Queen Lili'uokalani, composer of such tunes as "Aloha 'Oe" and "The Queen's Prayer." It's the fifth in a series of collectibles benefitting the foundation.

Information: 543-5388.

Surfboard as art

Street artists like Eric Haze, Dez Einswell, Futura and Angry Woebot have turned real surfboards into real art as part of a benefit for the Jason Bogle Cancer Foundation.

The boards will be on display 6 to 10 p.m. tonight at In4mation at the Ward Warehouse. They're also being sold by auction online through Dec. 14. For more information, call 597-1447.

TV lampoons holiday

Bryan Cranston (left), Judge Reinhold (right) and Penelope Ann Miller sit down together at the holiday table for TBS Superstation's first original comedy movie, "National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Reunion," premiering Sunday.

Reinhold is an anesthesiologist to the stars who travels with his family to Idaho to spend Thanksgiving with a long-lost cousin (Cranston) and his wife (Miller). The union serves up a clash of personalities, with Cranston and Miller on the hippie side of the table and Reinhold and his family on the conservative end.
