Maui Adventure Race set for next month

The Maui Adventure Race, a 225-mile, multi-discipline event, is scheduled for Dec. 5-7 on the Valley Isle.

The race, sponsored by the Maui Sports Institute, will feature teams of two and four using the skills of running, paddling, biking, mountaineering, trekking and kayaking.

Teams from Hawai'i and abroad are scheduled to take part in the competition.

As part of adventure racing's interest in the environment, race participants also will take part in a reforestation project.
