SEC allows confidential info

Hawaiian Holdings Inc. yesterday received permission from the Securities & Exchange Commission to keep confidential certain information that was excluded from its 2002 annual report.

The parent company for Hawaiian Airlines asked the SEC on April 15 for permission to keep details on services ordering, inventory support, financial service and jet fuel sales and purchase agreements away from public scrutiny.

Hawaiian Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year.



State gets $50K for project costs

Hawai'i will get $50,000 under a grant announced yesterday to offset costs associated with participating in a National Governors Association project aimed at getting working adults to earn college degrees or other post-high school degrees.

Hawai'i is one of eight states picked to participate in Pathways to Advancement Policy Academy, which will include a series of meetings next year to evaluate education, work force, welfare and economic development strategies.
