How Hawai'i hotels are faring

With a 10.1 percent increase in occupancy, O'ahu led all islands in occupancy at 68.7 percent for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC. O'ahu's average daily rate rose by 2 percent to $116.51. Statewide occupancy posted a 10.3 percent gain to 64.1 percent, while statewide room rates decreased by 0.2 percent to $131.47. The Big Island saw an impressive 23.8 percent increase in occupancy to 57.8 percent. Maui had a 4.6 percent increase.
