Advertiser Staff

The official announcement will be made during this weekend's Skins Game, but defending champion Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson are expected to make up the foursome in the Wendy's Champions Skins Game at the Wailea Gold Course Jan. 30-31.

Trevino earned $240,000 in this year's event with Hale Irwin finishing second with $200,000. Nicklaus was third at $160,000 despite winning the most skins (seven) while Palmer was shut out.

Ticket prices are $10 for Friday's pro-am on Jan. 30 and $25 for the 18-hole skins format the next day.

Head pro / assistant event

Thirty-three teams are entered in the Aloha Section PGA E-Z-Go head professional and assistant championship Tuesday and Wednesday at the Hualalai Golf Club on the Big Island.

Kevin Carll, who won the two-man team event with Kevin Hayashi when they were both at the Pearl Country Club, is entered with two of his Ko Olina assistants, Kevin Kashiwai and Travis Joerger.

Hayashi, now the head pro at Hapuna, is not playing in the event.
