JUST MY STYLE
Portraits inspire her 1950s look

I'm wearing: Handkerchief skirt by Scott, purchased in San Francisco, a black tank top and white cardigan from Ann Taylor, a scarf from a thrift store and shoes from Sears. |
Age: 20.
Occupation: Student and sales representative for Diamond Head Video.
What I'm dying to buy right now: Horn-rimmed sunglasses with rhinestones on the side. I haven't seen them yet, but I'm looking.
The best bargain I ever found was: At Savers I found a red fringe dress that had little rhinestone straps for about $10, and I've worn it to go out as well as to a costume party.
I'm willing to pay more for top quality when it comes to: High-heeled shoes, especially cute girly shoes.
I can never get enough: High-waisted peg skirts (narrower at the hem than at the hips) and scarves.
My favorite designers are: Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson. I can't afford them, but I wish I could. I also like Mode Merr. It's based out of Boston and I love the designer I've chatted with her online. www.modemerr.com. It's not too pricey and the quality is really good.
My favorite places to shop are: Goodwill and Savers, as well as Ann Taylor, and Buffalo Exchange in San Francisco.
Three men/women who inspire my look: Winona Ryder, and the paintings and portraits by Gil Elvgren.
My biggest fashion faux pas was: Wearing a tight tank top that zips up the side. The zipper started coming undone from the bottom up.
