TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE:
"The Family Man" (2000), 7 p.m., NBC. Nicolas Cage plays a big-time businessman who likes his car, his money and his power. At Christmas time, he's transported into the life he would have had if he'd married his college sweetheart (Tea Leoni). He would have a dull job, a loud house and a lot of bills. He would also, as it happens, be happy. The result is predictable, yet thoroughly entertaining.
"All Grown Up," 6 p.m., Nickelodeon. The "Rugrats" gang gets a giant age jump. The kids are preteens now and ready to make new mistakes, with four episodes airing tonight. In the first, Susie Carmichael wants to be a singing star. She has talent (especially with Cree Summer in the role), but meets a shady operator. The second has Tommy using a hidden camera on his friends. These are well-made stories with serious (but perhaps too frequent) moralizing.
Of Note:
College Football, 3 p.m., ABC. As the season (bowl games excluded) wraps up, ABC shows Notre Dame at Stanford.
"Dances With Wolves" (1990) conclusion, 9-11 p.m., Pax. In the first half, which aired Friday, we saw a Civil War officer (Kevin Costner) bond with the Sioux Indians. Now they face huge struggles, wrapping up this well-made, Oscar-winning epic.
"X-Men" (2000), 8 p.m., FX. Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and more star in this big-budget movie based on the popular comic books.
"Ice Wars: North America vs. The World," 8 p.m., CBS. Here's a skating special that allows the popular Canadian duo, Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, to be on our side. Tonight, they have a rematch with the duo (Elena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikhaluridze) they shared an Olympic gold medal with in 2002. Others include Oksana Baiul, Brian Boitano and Kurt Browning.
"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. This reruns the episode that had Justin Timberlake as both the host and musical guest.
