Lane to be closed on Kalaniana'ole

The state will close the right lane of Kalaniana'ole Highway, Honolulu-bound, between Auloa Road and Castle Junction from 10 tonight to 6:30 a.m. tomorrow to replace damaged guardrails. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area.



Fraud, identity theft to be discussed

City Prosecutor Peter Carlisle will be among speakers offering advice on recognizing and reporting consumer fraud at a conference today at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Experts also will discuss healthcare fraud, financial abuse, identity theft, telemarketing fraud and other "hot topics."

Kava festival slated at Lyon Arboretum

The first Hawai'i Pacific Islands Kava Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Lyon Arboretum at the back of Manoa Valley.

The free event will feature Hawaiian and Pacific Island food, kava, culture and music. Workshops and discussions also have been scheduled to promote better understanding of kava.
