5,000 to take part in Niketown run

Some 5,000 runners will participate in the fourth Niketown 5, a 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) run through Waikiki Sunday.

The race begins at 7 a.m. and some roads will be closed. As in past years, all entry fees will be donated to O'ahu public and private schools to help athletic programs.

A one-mile kids run around Fort DeRussy Park also will be held for children 12 and under.

Although the race is full, to verify your application, call 943-6453.

• Oct. 11 — Hawai'i International Youth Goodwill Games Coaching Clinic.
