Memorial service set for Pfeiffer

A memorial service for former maritime executive Robert J. "Bobby" Pfeiffer will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at St. Andrew's Cathedral. Pfeiffer, 83, died Sept. 26 in California.

A reception will be at the Hawai'i Maritime Center after the service.

Pfeiffer, chairman emeritus of Alexander & Baldwin and Matson Navigation Co., had a maritime career spanning 58 years, 38 of them with Alexander & Baldwin.

Services also are planned for Oct. 16 in San Francisco.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Pfeiffer's memory be made to the Hawai'i Maritime Center, the SS Jeremiah O'Brien-Robert J. Pfeiffer memorial fund or to any charity.
