WASHINGTON — Here are some actions in Congress last week.

Key House votes

1. Overtime rules

On Thursday, the House passed, 221-203, a nonbinding resolution opposing the implementation of proposed rules changing who is eligible for overtime pay. A "yea" vote was to block the overtime rules.

Hawai'i votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) YEA; Ed Case (D) YEA

2. Abortion procedure

On Thursday, the House passed, 281-142, a bill that would ban a procedure that opponents call "partial birth" abortion. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Hawai'i votes: Neil Abercrombie (D) NAY; Ed Case (D) NAY

What's ahead: The House is scheduling minor business for two days while it waits for final versions from the Senate on a number of spending bills. The Senate is on recess for a week.
