Two arrested in heroin bust

Two men from Mexico were arrested yesterday in Pearl City on suspicion of distributing black-tar heroin.

Police seized a "significant" amount of the drug in an undercover operation that led to the arrests of the two men, ages 22 and 30, at 1858 Waimano Home Road, said Honolulu police narcotics/vice Capt. Kevin Lima, who declined comment on how much heroin was involved.

The bust occurred at 4:35 p.m. and both men were booked on suspicion of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. The two were still in custody this morning.

Boat aground off Waimanalo

Officials may attempt to pull a Honolulu-based 59-foot fishing boat off a reef south of Waimanalo Beach Park today at high tide. The Kay ran aground at midnight with six people aboard. There were no reports of injuries or fuel spills.

Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Todd Offut said a contractor has been hired by the boat’s owner to pump about 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel off the boat. High tide was expected at 2:30 p.m., and officials will try to pump out some of the fuel and free the boat then, said Offut. If the attempt fails, all the fuel will be removed and an effort will be made to free the boat at the next high tide.

Police were trying to find a 45-year-old man wanted on parole revocation and traffic warrants for questioning about an Aug. 12 robbery at Kahala Mall in which a red 2001 Honda Elite moped was stolen, said CrimeStoppers coordinator Detective Letha DeCaires.

Randall Dean Wallace stands 5-feet-8 and weighs 280 pounds. He is known to frequent Waikiki, Ala Moana and downtown.

Anyone with information on Wallace should call Crime-Stoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on a cellular phone.

Tomasulo, of a Cooke Street address, is charged with three counts of second-degree assault and two of first-degree terroristic threatening. Bail was set at $30,000.

Tomasulo allegedly sprayed a man, 35, in the face with an unknown substance before striking him in the head with a pipe. A second man, 26, was stabbed in the stomach with a knife. Both victims were treated for injuries and released.

Stabbing leads to an arrest

A 29-year-old man was stabbed yesterday morning during a confrontation outside 655 Ke'eaumoku St.

A 22-year-old Wahiawa man was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and later released pending further investigation. The stabbing victim was treated at The Queen’s Medical Center for a cut near the collarbone and released.

Police said the victim and two other men were arguing with a security guard at 1:30 a.m. when the stabbing occurred.
