BUSINESS BRIEFS
Former hotel now a condo

Advertiser Staff

The owner of the former Ohana Hobron Hotel in Waikiki recently began selling units in the 44-story tower as fee-simple condominiums after canceling plans to sell the project as a senior-living facility.

Oaktree Capital Management LLC a year ago initiated plans to convert the 600-room hotel at 343 Hobron Lane into 165 fee-simple units for seniors ages 55 and up, but in June quietly began informing buyers of the change to regular condos.

Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties is marketing the renovated rooms, converted into 179 one- and two-bedroom units at the building now known as The Windsor. Prices start at $260,000 for one-bedroom units, and at $309,000 for two-bedroom units.

Consulting firm changes name

The Honolulu office of Buck Consultants, a global human resources and employee benefits consulting firm, has been renamed Mellon Human Resources & Investor Solutions.

The move reflects the integration by parent company Mellon Financial Corp. of its four business units specializing in human resources and investor services worldwide — Buck Consultants, Mellon Investor Services, Mellon HR Solutions and Vinings Mellon.

Buck Consultants in Honolulu serves such clients as Alexander & Baldwin, Castle & Cooke and Territorial Savings Bank.
