Menlo's Miller sets rushing record

Menlo (Calif.) senior running back Duane Miller (Wai'anae 1999) set a school record, rushing for 198 yards in a 50-19 victory over Whittier on Saturday.

Miller, a 5-foot-7, 200-pounder, broke his own record of 186 set last season against Pacific Lutheran.

He is averaging 110.6 yards per game in five games this season, ranking 39th in the nation in NCAA Division III.

Miller set a school record last season with 1,081 rushing yards. He has 2,219 yards in his career.

Colby College (Maine) cornerback Travis Agustin (Iolani '02 of Pearl City) had his first interception of the season in a 31-7 win over Wesleyan (Conn.) Saturday.



Women's Tennis

Rice junior Tracie Chong (Iolani of Honolulu) won her first-round match of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-American Championships qualifying draw yesterday in Pacific Palisades, Calif., defeating Denver's Yannick Dullens, 3-5, 7-6 (4), 6-3. Chong then lost to Miami's Megan Bradley, 7-6 (2), 6-4.

Loyola Marymount senior outside hitter Kealani Kimball (Kamehameha '00 of Kaunakakai, Moloka'i) had 18 kills and 16 digs in a four-game win over No. 24 San Francisco Saturday. ... Bentley (Mass.) sophomore Ashley Elliazar (Iolani of Mililani) had 15 kills and 15 digs in a five-game victory over Dowling College on Friday.
