Police look into death of baby

Police are investigating the case of a 7-week-old baby who died Thursday in Salt Lake after being dropped on his head.

The father of the baby told police he was holding his son at their home on Ala 'Ilima Street at about 2 a.m. when the boy slipped from his grasp and fell on his head.

The boy was unresponsive and the father, 34, called 911, then began CPR on his son.

The baby was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, police said.



Motorcycle crash investigated

Police were investigating a motorcycle accident shortly after 10 last night near Wahiawa. The driver was believed to be in critical condition.

The accident was reported on the "S-curves" of Kaukonahua Road between Wahiawa and Hale'iwa.



First Hawaiian bank robbed

First Hawaiian Bank's Kapahulu branch was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash about 11:30 a.m. yesterday by a man who used a note demanding money.

It was the fourth bank robbery this month on O'ahu.
