Cullen leads Warriors to ILH victory

Sy Cullen rushed for three touchdowns as No. 1 Kamehameha beat Damien, 28-7, last night in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game at Kunuiakea Stadium on the Kamehameha Schools' campus.

Kamehameha improved to 4-0 and Damien dropped to 1-3.

Cullen, who rushed 14 times for 47 yards, scored on runs of 12, 4 and 4 yards.

Warriors quarterback Pono Kam completed 15 of 29 passes for 173 yards, including an 8-yard scoring toss to Kawika Vincent.

Iolani 13, Pac-Five 13: Raiders senior running back Raynold Stowers rushed for 203 yards on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns, and Shawn Agustin made a key interception in the fourth quarter to preserve the tie in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II game at Aloha Stadium.

Stowers scored on runs of 38 and 52 yards and also caught six passes for 45 yards.

On second-and-24 from the Raiders 40, Agustin, a senior defensive back, intercepted Pac-Five's Jordan Tani's deep inside the Raiders' territory with 22 seconds remaining. Agustin finished with 10 tackles.

Tani finished the game 16 of 31 for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He threw three interceptions.

Pac-Five struck first when Tani found Travis Tyler for a 19-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Iolani answered just before the end of the first quarter on Stowers' 38-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7-7.

On the third play of the third quarter, Stowers scored on a 52-yard run. The two-point conversion failed and Iolani led 13-7.

Pac-Five tied the score at 13 on Tani's 7-yard touchdown pass to Gyles Lawrence. The extra-point attempt was blocked.
