1. Reduce pension contributions

Wednesday, the House passed by a 397-2 vote a bill that would allow companies to reduce contributions to their pension plans for the next two years while Congress debates a more comprehensive overhaul.

2. Marriage tax

Wednesday, the House passed on a 399-0 vote a package of veterans bills, including an extension of burial benefits to Filipino World War II veterans, a measure that would allow spouses who remarry after a veteran's death to be buried in VA cemeteries, and legislation that would increase assistance to disabled veterans who need adaptive equipment for their homes or vehicles.
