Kai sisters lift UH soccer

Sisters Natasha and Krisha Kai scored goals as the University of Hawai'i beat Idaho State, 2-0, in a non-conference soccer match yesterday in Pocatello, Idaho.

Natasha, a sophomore forward, scored unassisted at 37:19.

Krisha, a freshman forward, scored at 53:22 off an assist from Kimi Tiampo.

The Kai sisters both attended Kahuku High School.

Hawai'i (11-4-1) finished 7-1-1 on the road this season, the best mark in school history.

Idaho State (4-7-1) has lost six in a row.

The Rainbow Wahine outshot the Bengals, 21-6.

Hawai'i returns home to play Western Athletic Conference matches against Fresno State on Friday and San Jose State on Sunday.

TENNIS

Weekend at Ala Moana: The 17th Annual U.S. Tennis Association/Hawai'i Pacific Section Tennis Weekend will be Oct. 24-26 at Ala Moana Beach Park, McCoy Pavilion and the Ala Moana Hotel.

The weekend features tennis clinics for juniors and adults, skills challenges, recreational games, product demonstrations and exhibitions. Most are free and everyone is invited.

Special guests include former ATP players Vijay Amritraj and Eliot Teltscher, "Teaching Pro of the Decade" Dennis Van der Meer, and former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, now a USTA board member.
